Civil Engineering Department Manager (PE)

AMI is searching for a Civil Engineering Department Manager who supports our clients, co-workers and core company principles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance of the project team members and provide clients high-quality deliverables on time and within budget. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in, and be most interested in, waterfront, land development and trail design for our Vadnais Heights, MN office location. The qualified candidate must have a passion for designing projects while hitting deadlines and providing the best possible service, along with high design aesthetics for both public and private projects across numerous sectors. Applicants will be accountable for working on moderate to complex projects while working independently or guiding staff to prepare projects related to civil site development, trails, utilities and marine design.

The ideal candidate should be driven towards superior client service, have good management skills, be a leader, and be experienced in Project Management. The applicant should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with impeccable follow through while taking ownership in each project. This person should be passionate about their work, enjoy variety and like problem solving. The candidate should be team oriented, honest and have a helpful disposition with a positive, “can-do” attitude.  Candidate will be responsible for 4 to 6 team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Good management and teaching skills
  • Experienced in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Self-starter that is deadline driven
  • 10+ years of relevant experience required
  • PE certification in Minnesota or can obtain in near future 
  • Positive attitude, with a high work ethic
  • Enjoys an ever-changing work environment
  • Flexible work schedule to support project implementation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license, for occasional travel

Compensation:
