Coastal/Riverine Engineer

AMI Consulting Engineers, PA is seeking a full-time Coastal/Riverine Engineer, with 4+ years’ experience, to join our Team. The qualified candidate will be responsible for assessments, proposals, design and planning/execution of coastal/riverine designs on a wide range of projects including emergency stabilization, new construction, rehabilitation & restoration, and modifications to existing structures. 

The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and have excellent follow through while taking ownership in each project assigned. Travel and field work may be required to complete projects. The successful candidate must serve the engineering needs of clients by providing exceptional professional service. They should be passionate about their work, enjoy variety and like problem solving. This candidate will need to be a team player, honest and have a helpful disposition with a positive “can-do” attitude.

Qualifications:

ð        Bachelor’s degree

ð        4 - 10 years of coastal/riverine engineering experience

ð        Professional Engineer (PE) registration or ability to obtain within 6 months

ð        Ability to delegate tasks to ensure rigid deadlines are met

ð        Ability to travel and work remotely for short periods of time

ð        Competent in the design of coastal elements and systems

ð        Environmental permitting experience

ð        Strong understanding of environmental processes and conditions

ð        Experience in coastal and river hydraulics modeling

ð        Experience with CAD design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D)

ð        Strong verbal and written communication skills

ð        Construction management experience

ð        Mentor junior staff

ð        Self-starter that is deadline driven and accountable

ð        Enjoys an ever changing, fast paced work environment

ð        Valid driver’s license

ð        Rosgen certified (preferred, not required)

ð        Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models, including HEC-RAS
