DSPA BERTH 8 & 9

AMI was the marine design lead for the DSPA Berths 8 & 9 project. These services included an initial as-built investigation for 1,800 feet of existing wood crib and steel sheet pile dock, complete bathymetric/hydrographic survey for dredge planning to the USACE Channel, underwater inspections, and survey for baselines and layout. AMI assisted with construction estimates, initial site layouts, and plans to obtain DOT TIGER Discretionary Grant funding. The complete analysis of existing dock structures on site led to a unique design and the overall cost of the project was cut by utilizing sections of the old grain elevator foundations as the new anchor wall. The total design of the project included 1,805 feet of new steel sheet pile dock wall, marine coatings, steel tie rod anchor system, a pile supported roll-on/roll-off dock, heavy lift crane pads, and increased mooring capacity and flexibility by installing new larger bollards and foundations.
