SAINT PAUL PORT AUTHORITY TERMINAL REPAIRS

AMI performed visual inspections above and below the waterline at all Port Facilities for the Saint Paul Port Authority (SPPA) along the Mississippi River in St. Paul, Minnesota. The project included repair of weep holes, scour remediation, fender repairs, mooring post design and installation, and SSP cell repairs and long-term repair planning.

AMI was contracted to inspect 7,250 lineal ft. of sheet pile dock wall and nine loading cells at five different facilities. The purpose of the inspection was to determine if any damaged occurred after a record setting flood event in the Spring of 2014. AMI visually inspected the dock walls and loading cells for any signs of damage or deterioration. After inspection, AMI summarized the results in a detailed dive inspection report. As part of the report, AMI determined if the documented damaged was a direct result of the flood.

After the report was completed, AMI assisted the SPPA and another contractor with the necessary documentation for requesting funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). After funds were appropriated, AMI assisted the SPPA with bidding the project out to prospective contractors.

The project was awarded in early November 2017 with construction being performed in late 2017 and early 2018. AMI performed construction oversight services to ensure the repairs were completed according to the project specifications and drawings.
