As a multidiscipline firm, AMI offers diversified, specialty engineering services. AMI prides itself on continually staying focused on the best means and methods of accomplishing the most difficult tasks. Through training and education, the staff is continuously evolving their skillsets with new technology, equipment, software, and techniques. AMI offers a balance between industry known standards and practices with modern technology in order to provide our clients with the best possible results.
Bathymetry is the measurement of water depth and hydrography is the science of surveying and charting bodies of water. AMI provides bathymetric and hydrographic surveys that measure and describe the physical features of bodies of water and the land/coast that is adjacent to them. This includes a wide variety of underwater and topside imagery. AMI utilizes state-of-the -art survey equipment and software for collecting and post processing survey data. Bathymetric and hydrographic surveys are essential at a projects inception if accurate design decisions are to be made.
AMI utilizes unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to provide a fast, safe and cost-effective surveys from height. Our FAA certified drone pilots have extensive experience with inspections and monitoring of shorelines, general infrastructure, roadways, bridges, power lines pipelines, silos and railroads. Our team can collect, analyze, and distribute aerial data quickly. Our drones are routinely deployed during preconstruction phase, construction monitoring, and final inspection.
Advanced 3D Modeling
AMI offers our clients access to the advantages of state-of-the-art technology through utilization of 3D modeling and collaboration software. We are constantly looking for ways to incorporate the tools available to our profession into our designs. Some of the advantages to the client include better coordination, more flexibility through the design process, and seamless transitions into fabrication & construction which all equate to higher quality and fewer change orders. Here are some of the service that AMI offers: 3D scanning Parts and component modeling with Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks Building design and collaboration modeling with Revit FEA analysis with Solidworks and various parametric structural analysis programs Fabrication modeling with Inventor, Solidworks, and Autodesk Advance Steel Installation coordination and sequencing with Autodesk NavisWorks Interference detection
Load Testing and Analysis
AMI can offer load testing for a variety of lifting devices and cranes. Prior to initial use, extensively repaired, new, and altered cranes should be tested to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards. In addition to providing onsite personnel to perform the rig-up and testing, AMI can create a load test plan and provide load test reports including the stability of the crane pedestals during each test.
