14th STREET APARTMENTS

AMI provided structural and mechanical engineering for this new 22-unit, 18,000 sq. ft. apartment complex. Located near Fond du Lac Community College, the complex is the second phase of a three-phase apartment development.

To accommodate the site topography, the buildings lowest level was built into the hillside, allowing units on the lower-level access to the outdoors through on grade patios. To do this, engineers applied unbalanced soil loads to the buildings second level and robust wood shear walls to resist these lateral forces. The HVAC utilizes through-wall air conditioners and electric heat while benefiting from a centralized domestic hot water circulation system.
