Coastal and Marine Civil Technician/Designer
Location: Superior WI, or Vadnais Heights, MN Reports to: Coastal Department Manager
Department: Coastal Department Status: Full-Time (40-50 hours per week on average)

AMI Consulting Engineers, PA is seeking an experienced Coastal and Marine Civil Technician/Designer to join our Superior, WI or Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN office. The qualified candidate will perform, topographic and photogrammetric surveying (drone), civil 3D drafting services/construction document production utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D software and engineering software to assist in the design process of marine civil and coastal projects. The candidate will prepare moderately complex drawings while working independently on projects related to marine civil, coastal, and waterfront development.
The ideal candidate should be driven towards superior client service and can work independently and in accordance with established CAD standards and procedures. The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills with impeccable follow-through while taking ownership of every project presented. This candidate should also be team-oriented and helpful in their disposition.
Technical Qualifications:
Associate/Technical degree or certification in civil technology or related field
2+ years of progressive drafting and design experience
Experience developing and interpreting construction plans
Proficiency with Microsoft Software
Well versed in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (knowledge of other Autodesk products preferred, but not required)
Familiar with topographic surveying equipment
Demonstrated ability to produce construction documents
Ability to conduct field work independently

Willing to learn additional skills related to field services and/or engineering software
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of progressive drafting and design experience preferred
Knowledge and experience in all types of surveys
Experience preparing cost estimates for feasibility and construction projects
Experience preparing construction documents, including drawings and specifications
Knowledge of engineering principles and marine structures
