LITTLE SAND BAY MARINA DEVIL’S ISLAND DOCK

AMI conducted topside and underwater dive inspections on the existing docks, breakwaters and retaining walls to assess their structural conditions. AMI also performed bathymetric surveys to assess the existing coastal conditions at the two sites.

Detailed topographic surveys of the project sites were conducted focusing on the shoreline structures. The bathymetric surveys focused on nearshore zones to capture the variation in seafloor depths that directly affect to design wave heights. This information along with historical data and advanced modeling techniques were utilized to perform a detailed spectral wave analysis. The wave analysis included examining the varying lake water levels, storm surge effects, and changing wave conditions with respect to storm event return periods.

With the compiled information, AMI produced a report for each facility detailing the results from the inspections, surveys, and analysis. The reports also included several conceptual design options for the seawalls and docks at the two sites. Each conceptual design included preliminary drawings, renderings, and cost estimates.
