AMI provided engineering, planning, and permitting services for multiple waterfront improvement initiatives along the Blackwater River, supporting marina redevelopment, public access enhancements, and long-term community revitalization.
AMI partnered with the City of Milton to advance a series of waterfront improvement projects focused on strengthening public access, enhancing recreational boating facilities, and supporting long-term riverfront redevelopment. The work included planning and assessment efforts at Russell Harber Landing Park as well as engineering support for redevelopment of the City's downtown marina and adjacent riverfront properties.
At Russell Harber Landing Park, AMI conducted topographic and bathymetric surveys, structural evaluations of the existing boat launch and dock facilities, and site assessments to identify infrastructure deficiencies and maintenance needs. The team developed recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, and replacement of waterfront facilities while evaluating dredging requirements, shoreline conditions, and opportunities to improve functionality, accessibility, and resilience.
For the Downtown Marina Redevelopment, AMI provided waterfront, structural, and civil engineering expertise to support transformation of approximately 3.7 acres of city-owned riverfront property into a vibrant public destination anchored by marina facilities and complementary redevelopment. Engineering efforts included marina expansion and rehabilitation planning, shoreline interface design, utility coordination, stormwater management considerations, and integration of public waterfront access improvements.
Throughout both projects, AMI worked closely with regulatory agencies to address environmental constraints, floodplain requirements, and permitting needs associated with development along the Blackwater River, including coordination with state and federal resource agencies. The resulting plans support resilient waterfront infrastructure, environmental stewardship, enhanced recreational opportunities, and the City's broader vision for riverfront revitalization and economic growth.
