FOREST LODGE BOATHOUSE
Foundation Rehabilitation Planning for a Historic Waterfront Structure
AMI Consulting Engineers supported the U.S. Forest Service with an engineering evaluation of the historic Forest Lodge Boathouse on Lake Namekagon in Bayfield County, Wisconsin. The two-story recreational boathouse required investigation due to concerns related to foundation stability and long-term performance in a waterfront environment.
AMI identified boring locations for geotechnical exploration and completed a comprehensive condition assessment of the supporting crib and stone foundation, including underwater inspection. Based on subsurface findings and observed conditions, AMI developed multiple foundation rehabilitation options and documented them in a technical report. The work provided the U.S. Forest Service with clear, practical guidance to support future stabilization and preservation of this historic waterfront structure.
