AMI partnered with Nordic Group to provide integrated engineering services for a multi-phase church addition designed to support a growing congregation and expanded community programming.

AMI provided structural, mechanical, and plumbing engineering services for an addition to The Landing Church in Duluth, Minnesota. The project expanded the existing facility by more than 6,000 square feet and included a new worship center, additional classrooms, and new restroom facilities. The engineering team developed coordinated building system designs that integrated seamlessly with the existing structure while meeting current code and performance requirements.

Structural services included the design of gravity and lateral force-resisting systems, foundation solutions for varying site conditions, and accommodations for significant grade changes along the classroom addition. Mechanical and plumbing design included HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, ventilation design, ductwork and piping layouts, plumbing systems, and energy code documentation.

Throughout design and construction, AMI worked closely with Nordic Group and the project team to deliver practical, constructible engineering solutions. The coordinated approach helped streamline project delivery, reduce potential construction conflicts, and provide a durable, efficient facility positioned to serve the church and community for years to come.
