AMI provided topside and underwater inspection services for approximately 1,200 linear feet of steel sheet pile dock wall to evaluate the condition of critical waterfront infrastructure at the Superior Refining Marine Terminal.

AMI completed comprehensive topside and underwater inspections of Berth 3 at the Superior Refining Marine Terminal in Duluth, Minnesota. The assessment was performed to support lease agreement requirements and evaluate the condition of dock infrastructure serving active industrial and marine operations. Field activities were coordinated around vessel schedules and terminal operations to minimize disruptions while maintaining safe access to the facility.

The inspection included Level I underwater and topside evaluations to identify structural damage, corrosion, deterioration, scour, and other conditions affecting dock performance. AMI also conducted vertical alignment measurements in areas with previously documented scour concerns to assess potential wall movement and indicators of structural instability. Using a commercial engineering dive team, helmet-mounted video systems, and detailed field documentation, the team collected critical condition data for analysis and future reference.

AMI compiled inspection findings, photographs, and underwater video records into a comprehensive condition assessment report. The report included recommendations for maintenance and repair needs, providing the facility owner and port stakeholders with actionable information to support asset management, regulatory compliance, and long-term planning for waterfront infrastructure.
